Chamber Fundraiser February 17th
The Boron Chamber is sponsorinig a Soup, Salad and Cornbread fundraising dinner on February 17th at the Boron Community Building. Dinner will be served from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm and all proceeds from the event will be used to sponsor the Chamber's community events for 2012. All residents of Boron and the surrounding communities are encouraged to attend. If you would like to volunteer to help with the food preparation for the dinner please contact Tammy Brown at 760.559.7265.
Boron Flea Market Set for First Saturdays
The Boron Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a monthly flea market at the Community Building on the first Saturday of each month. The first flea market is set for Saturday March 3rd from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Set up for the event is at 8:00 am and space rental is $10.00 for a 10 X 10 space. Please contact Tammy Brown at 760.559.7265.for more information about selling at the event. Spaces inside the building are limited so call early to reserve you space.
20 Mule Team Days September 15th and 16th
The 2012 Boron 20 Mule Team Days celebration has been moved this year to the third weekend in September. Planned events for this year's celebration include the annual parade, Amargo Cruisers car show, live music, food booths, arts and crafts vendors, raffles and the annual Baby Beautiful contest. Event applications will be posted to the web site in the near future.
Chamber Elections
Three Chamber of Commerce director's seats will be up for election in April. If you are interested in running for one of the director's seats contact the Chamber for more information. All interested members of the communities of Boron, Desert Lake, North Edwards and Four Corners are welcome to submit an application for consideration. Community Queens Contests
The Boron Community Queens contests have been scheduled for Saturday April 21, 2012. Points of contact for the event are Nancy Smith and Nancy Richardson. We will be posting more information to the web site on the contests in the near future.
Docents Needed for Boron Museums
The Boron Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications for docents to work at the Twenty Mule Team and Colonel Vernon P. Saxon Aerospace Museums. Docent's duties include hosting guests and visitors, cleaning and maintaining museum exhibits, answering phones, guiding tours, and gift shop sales. These volunteer positions are unpaid and require a two to three week training period with the respective directors of the museums.
