Located in the heart of Boron's central business district, Art's Automotive Magazines is one of Boron's most unique and interesting shops. Art's Automotive Magazines is a one-of-a-kind specialty shop that buys, sells, and trades hot rod, classic car, muscle car, vintage car, motorcycle, and speed boat magazines. Art's extensive magazine collection boasts over 1,000,000 publications (from his last count which was more than four years ago) with some magazines dating as far back as the late 1800s. Known as "Mr. Magazine" on the drag racing and vintage car show circuit, owner Art Croft, has been selling his vintage publications at major motor sports events all over California for the last ten years. Some of the events Art's Automotive Magazines has been a featured vendor at include; the Famosa drag races in Bakersfield, the Winternational drag races at Pomona and the L. A. Roadster Vintage Car Show in Los Angeles. Art moved his business from Vista, California to Boron in January of 2005 and opened his doors for business in March. He was attracted to Boron because of the town's central location to the major events he attends, the affordable rent, and the dry climate which helps in the preservation of his magazine collection. After getting to know a few of the locals he was please to learn of the large number of people in Boron who owned and restored vintage street rods and classic muscle cars. Pre 1960 issuesArt's Automotive Magazines carries an extensive collection of pre 1960s automobile and vintage motorcycle magazines dating back to the early 1900s. He also has several highly collectable magazines in stock such as, the first issue of Hot Rod magazine, collectable issues featuring Ed "Big Daddy" Roth, the first issue of Hot Boat and a few autographed pieces of memorabilia.
